Initialization of pubic hair removal is at the age of menarche and the source of knowledge is the mother. ![]() The results of our study revealed that a vast majority of Turkish Cypriot women applies regular pubic hair removal and the most common method is waxing. Self-administered questionnaires were given to volunteered female subjects applied to our outpatient services. This study was conducted as a cross-sectional study. The aim of this study is to evaluate the recent trends, demographic, social, and sexual features of pubic hair removal activities among Turkish Cypriot women in North Cyprus. Although pubic hair removal is known to be very common, there is very few data about the pubic hair removal features of the women in eastern Mediterranean area and Islamic population. However, development of new technologies such as lasers or home-use depilatory devices may have changed the trends and methods. In the Middle East, removal of the female pubic hair has been considered as a tradition of hygiene for many centuries, and it is recommended by Islam. Pubic hair removal has been common since the ancient times. By the early eighteenth century, the descendants of these groups had coalesced into the Shahsevan confederacy, whose winter campsites were abundantly scattered over the uplands and the plain in the late 1960's.Aim. ![]() The plain became a favored pastureland, first by various Kurdish and Ghuzz Turk groups, then later as winter pasture for the armies of Mongols. By the time of the Mongol invasions but probably Ultan Qalasi was abandoned. Islamic historians of the tenth century describe the town (now known as Varthan) as a bustling economic center with a large mosque outside the city walls. The Mughan Steppe and different areas of Caucasus and Transcaucasia during late Sassanian period were colonized by Iranians. Based on our results, it seems that after the Sassanian period, these areas were occasionally caught up between Khazars and Arabs. In this article, we pay attention to historical geography of this town and try to found any traces of this city in the old historical and geographical written sources. It is located on the south bank of Aras River, between Parsabad and Aslandouz towns, Ardabil province. Ultan Qalasi is the largest of many fortified sites of Mughan steppe in Northwestern Iran. ![]()
